School Support Programme

Through this programme ACTS channels support towards improving the standards of schools in its target area

Many children in schools in Kenya are deprived of basic resources that are taken for granted in first world countries. Students often have to sit on concrete floors with little or no access to basic textbooks.

ACTS School Support Programme is central to our overall mission and involves providing desks, textbooks, pencils and other valuable resources for local schools. We believe that these basic resources play a key role in a child's educational progress.

By contributing classroom equipment and refurbishing classrooms, the learning environment in schools has been greatly enhanced.

A computer room for Mwamba Primary School

In 2013 ACTS have jointly set up a new computer room at Mwamba Primary School. This project was instigated by the Headmaster of the school and supported by a local organisation who sold us the computers cheaply and by one of our Acts donors, Mr. Nigel Foster, who contributed financially.

It has been a huge success, as these students could only dream of having access to a computer, even in secondary schools, where they do computer studies without any computers!

Toilet Block Sanitation at Kongowea Primary School

In March 2011, at Kongowea Primary School, an old dilapidated toilet block was repaired and renovated.
This is a great step in improving the poor sanitation facilities in this school with over 1000 students.
